October 20 – October 24 ,2016
This year I got invited by one of my high school friends to her wedding which took place in Bali. It was my first time in the beautiful country. As soon as I stepped out of the plane, the humidity and vibe reminded me of my hometown, the Philippines. My good friend and I shared this room at ‘The Haven, Seminyak’ during our four-night stay. This was recommended by my high school friend/the bride who also stayed in the same hotel.

The day before was our resting day. My friend whom I haven’t seen for two years flew from Jakarta. The great thing was she was my Interpreter/ tour guide, because she is Indonesian. We had two days to ourselves to explore beautiful Bali before our friend’s wedding day.
A fun day at the upside down museum. 😀
Next stop: Tegalalang Rice Terraces
It was really hot when we arrived. The first thing I saw was a small shop that sells fresh coconut juices. How could we resist?
I missed having fresh coconuts!
After the Rice terraces, my friend took me to this nice place also in Ubud called ‘Bebek Bengil’ (Crispy duck) where we had lunch. We sat comfortably at cushions laid at the floor inside the open air huts. There was something so serene about the ambience and view in the restaurant.
I was craving for Nasi Goreng so bad (fried rice with mixed meat and vegetables) and fresh papaya juice. The chicken satay and fried rice was so flavourful. Cravings satisfied indeed! I was jokingly disappointed at my friend for not finishing her plate of fried duck and rice. Seriously the BEST!
Our first day out together– I already wished I’d booked a longer stay.
