I was invited by one of my high school friends to her wedding in Jakarta, Indonesia. I travelled with one of our friends, who happened to be a bridesmaid. It was my first time experiencing the traditional Indonesian wedding. The wedding ceremony took place in a church followed by a grand celebration at The Ritz-Carlton at Mega-Kuningan.
There were dangling white flowers leading to the door of the hall. I loved the sparkly cherry blossoms where you can sit at the bottom of the tree. The hall was massive with fresh flower decors and big crystal lights.
There was a tea ceremony that went for around 2 hours before the celebration at the hall. My favourite part of the program was when a group of ladies who were wearing festive costumes and dancing introduced the newlyweds.
One of the things to look forward to in weddings is definitely the food. There were tables of different cuisines as stretching as long as stalls. Of course, I had to make room for dessert.
Grand, majestic and colourful…Truly am lost for words. I’ve never seen so much people in a wedding before. From the decors and the food, to the music. I’m so blessed to be able to witness a fairytale wonderland wedding.
